How it works

Last Man Standing is simple to explain and tedious to administer. Here's the game, and what the app takes off your hands.

The game

Each gameweek every player picks one team to win. If that team wins, the player survives to the next week. A defeat or a draw knocks them out. The last player standing takes the pot.

The twist that makes it interesting: you can only use each team once. Spend Liverpool at home in week one and you can't call on them again. Once a player has used all twenty teams, their pool resets and everyone is available again.

Deadlines

Picks lock at the first kickoff of the gameweek. Nobody sees anyone else's pick before then, and nobody can change theirs afterwards.

If a player forgets, they aren't quietly eliminated — they're assigned a team automatically from whatever they have left. A competition that stalls because three people didn't reply is a competition that dies, so the app keeps it moving.

Eliminations

When full-time results come in, the app applies them: winners go through, everyone else is out, and the table updates. There is nothing to calculate and nothing to argue about, because every pick is timestamped and logged.

What happens if everyone goes out at once

Occasionally a gameweek wipes out every remaining player. Rather than ending the competition with no winner, that week rolls over — the results are recorded, nobody is eliminated, and play continues the following week.

This is the rule most spreadsheets get wrong, and the one that causes the biggest arguments. It's handled automatically here.

The pot

You set the entry fee and how much of the takings forms the prize — some clubs put the whole lot in, others keep a share for club funds. The app shows a running pot total to everyone so nobody has to ask.

Your club collects the money. Cash in an envelope, bank transfer, whatever you already do. We provide the software; we never hold entry fees and never take a share of the pot.

What your players see

A player gets a personal link. Tapping it logs them straight in — no app store, no password, no account to create. They see who's still standing, which teams they've used, and this week's deadline. They pick, and they're done.

What you see

An admin area with your players, their payment status, every pick made, the full audit log, and a button to sync results if you ever want to force it manually.
